Mission Impickyable I: Storage

Have you ever wondered how Ness and co. fit all of that stuff into one backpack, and a shrimpy one at that? Well I have. Then again I also plan out my imaginary pet hamsters next attack on Rhode Island, but that's just a whole other story.
First lets start with Ness, in a full-length book retelling the EarthBound story it was suggested that Ness has a bat holder on his miniature backpack. Now why a backpack that couldn't contain a loaf of bread would have a bat holder is beyond me, but that's one possibility. Another possibility is that he has really big pockets, but then again with how stubby his legs are how big could the pockets possibly be. That's all the ideas for Ness.
Then there is Paula, Jeff, and Poo. I'm not even going to start on them. They don't even have pockets!
Then all of a sudden while I was talking to Mooo on mIRC one day, it hit me. By the time you first meet Apple Kid you don't have too many items to worry about. When you meet Apple Kid he gives you four "Mary Poppins" like pockets. The reason that he doesn't say
anything to you when he gives you these pockets is because he has his mouth stuffed with the food that you just gave him.
Another mystery solved. MMMMMM... dinner time.
