Earthbound Zero, known as Mother in Japan, was never released in America. From what I have played it seems very similar to the Super NES version. Only one copy of this game was ever sold on our shores. It was bought by a company named Neo Demi Force. They created it into a ROM, and allowed internet users to download it and save it on their PC.
This is our page on Earthbound Zero, the game that never was... in America, at least. Nintendo of America decided not to bring this awesome game to our shores, this coupled with the fact that EB was under-advertized led to a low amount of media exposure for EB and in the end led to its lack of success.
